FPSC issued the original schedule not long after the written result went out on 31 August. As detailed notices arrive for each center, we update the dates below to match — the “arrangement day” column reflects FPSC’s original planning notice and may not update when actual conduct dates shift.

Arrangement day vs. actual conduct

The “arrangement day” is administrative, not a reporting date — it’s when FPSC locks in logistics for that center. The “actual conduct” range is the real window your individual test could fall in. Multan’s window runs 17 to 27 November for just 28 people, so don’t assume day one is your day; wait for the specific call letter.

In short: only the “actual conduct” dates matter for your own test day. The arrangement day is FPSC’s internal planning marker, and as Islamabad Phase-II shows, it can become outdated once the real notice is issued.

What actually happens on assessment day

FPSC’s own guidelines are more reassuring than most candidates expect: no preparation is required. The stated goal is to estimate your natural ability and personality traits, not to test how well you’ve rehearsed answers.

The day runs in three phases. First, written tests gather information on your interests, opinions, and personal preferences. Second, group activities — a group discussion, a 2-minute extempore speech on a general topic, and a practical problem-solving task drawn from everyday working scenarios — where the panel is watching how you contribute, not just what you say. Third, a brief one-on-one with the psychologist to fill in any remaining gaps in your record, including a check on your general awareness of your surroundings.

Bring supporting documents for extracurricular activities, job experience, and publications — FPSC asks for these on the day itself, not in advance. For a fuller walkthrough of what to expect, our psychological assessment guide goes deeper on each phase.

Where this sits before your CSS interview

Psychological assessment isn’t the css interview itself, but it feeds directly into it. Our psychological assessment guide covers the full format. Once this stage wraps up, the next step is the viva voce, and how you come across here can shape how that panel reads you later, even though nothing in this stage is graded like a written paper.

A few things worth doing before your date

Answer personality-inventory questions consistently rather than strategically — these tools are built to flag contradictions. Keep your original CNIC and roll number slip ready before your center’s actual conduct window opens. Rest matters more here than last-minute revision does — fatigue shows up in these tests differently than it does on a written paper.

Official notices & updates

FPSC’s Psychological Assessment Wing issues all notifications directly, and several centers have explicitly marked their schedules as tentative. Always verify against the official notices before traveling.

Frequently asked questions

What happened to the postponed Islamabad Phase-I sessions (25 & 28 September)?

The same roll numbers (22518, 22244, 00221, 22630, 23142) now appear as the first scheduled date in the Islamabad Phase-II notice, set for 14 October 2026.

What is Islamabad Phase-III?

A newly added phase covering 23 candidates, not part of FPSC’s original six-center schedule. It runs from 17 to 22 October 2026 at FPSC Headquarters, Islamabad.

Is this the same as the CSS interview?

No. Psychological assessment is a separate, earlier stage run by FPSC’s Psychological Assessment Wing. The css interview (final viva voce) is scheduled after this.

Where do I check my fpsc css result before this stage?

The written result for CE-2026 was announced on FPSC’s official results page on 31 August. This schedule applies to candidates who cleared that result.

What if my center isn’t listed here?

Candidates in a different program group should check FPSC’s notices for a separate schedule under their program number.

Do I need to prepare for the psychological assessment?

No. FPSC’s official guidelines state no preparation is required — candidates are asked to respond freely and express their genuine feelings, opinions, and judgments rather than rehearsed answers.
