CSS Statistics Past Papers (2016–2026): Free PDF Download

CSS Statistics past papers show you how FPSC tests probability, sampling, statistical inference and data analysis in a timed competitive-exam setting. This page collects the original Statistics question papers from 2016 through 2026, with a free PDF for each year and one combined archive for offline study. Use them to map the syllabus, practise calculations and learn how statistical concepts appear in real questions.

Statistics CSS past papers by year

Start with the most recent paper to see the current style, then work backwards. Older papers remain useful because they show how FPSC has tested probability, sampling, regression, hypothesis testing and analysis of variance over time.

What the CSS Statistics paper tests

Each supplied paper is a three-hour, 100-mark examination. Part I contains MCQs worth 20 marks and has a 30-minute limit. Part II carries 80 marks; the instructions require candidates to attempt four questions by selecting two questions from each of the two sections. The papers also state that a calculator is allowed.

Probability and distributionsThe archive includes probability models, discrete and continuous distributions, expected values, sampling distributions and practical probability questions.
Inference and hypothesis testingQuestions cover estimation, simple and composite hypotheses, tests of significance, nonparametric methods, degrees of freedom and analysis of variance.
Sampling, regression and data analysisPast papers test sampling methods, correlation, linear regression, assumptions, skewness, kurtosis and the interpretation of statistical results.
Important: Statistics is not just a formula subject. The written questions often ask why a method is used, what assumptions it needs and how the result should be interpreted. Show the method, not only the final number.
ProbabilityProbability rules, conditional probability and applied probability situations
DistributionsDiscrete and continuous distributions, expectation and sampling distributions
SamplingSampling with and without replacement, sample design and sampling distributions
RegressionLinear regression, correlation, assumptions and practical interpretation
Hypothesis testingSimple and composite hypotheses, significance tests and nonparametric procedures
ANOVA and momentsAnalysis of variance, degrees of freedom, skewness and kurtosis

How to use CSS Statistics past papers

Do not begin by solving eleven papers without a plan. Use the archive in three passes.

First, separate the paper into MCQs and written questions. Use the 30-minute Part-I limit for quick recall, then reserve most of your preparation time for the 80-mark written section.

Next, classify the written questions. Mark each question by probability, distributions, sampling, regression, hypothesis testing or ANOVA. This gives you a revision map and makes recurring weaknesses easier to spot.

Finally, practise interpretation. After calculating a value, write one or two sentences explaining what it means in the question. That habit matters in Statistics because a correct calculation without a clear conclusion is incomplete exam communication.
