CSS MPT 2027: Date, Eligibility, Application Process, Syllabus and Rules
FPSC has uploaded the Online Admission Certificates (Roll Number Slips) for the MCQs-Based Preliminary Test (MPT) for the CSS Competitive Examination 2027. Candidates who applied can now download their slips through the official FPSC online portal.
The CSS MPT is the preliminary screening test conducted by the Federal Public Service Commission before the written CSS Competitive Examination. For CE-2027, the MPT is scheduled for 10 October 2026.
Admission Certificates are now live online. Candidates must download and print their roll number slip beforehand to verify their assigned examination centre, roll number, and morning arrival guidelines.

FPSC rescheduled the MCQs-Based Preliminary Test for CSS Competitive Examination 2027 to Saturday, 10 October 2026. Online Admission Certificates are now live on the commission's portal.

The Federal Public Service Commission has officially opened the download facility for CE-2027 (MPT) Online Admission Certificates. Registered candidates can check and print their roll number slips directly from the FPSC online portal.

How to Download CSS MPT 2027 Admission Certificate
Visit the Admission Certificate Portal
Navigate to the official FPSC MPT Admission Certificate Page.
Read the Declaration
Carefully read the undertaking confirming compliance with CSS Rules 2019 and instructions stated in the certificate.
Enter Your Credentials
Input your registered Name and Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number exactly as submitted in your application form.
Click "Agreed / Acknowledged" & Print
Submit the form to display your roll number slip. Print a clean, clear hard copy to bring to the examination hall on 10 October 2026.
CSS MPT 2027 Marks Distribution
The 200-mark MPT is divided among five areas. General Abilities carries the largest share, followed by English and General Knowledge.
CSS MPT 2027 Eligibility
Candidates appearing for the MPT must meet the applicable eligibility requirements for the CSS Competitive Examination 2027.
Education
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree with Second Division, subject to the applicable CSS rules.
Age Requirement
The standard CSS age requirement is 21 to 30 years, with applicable relaxation under the CSS rules.
CSS Attempts
Candidates must still have an available CSS competitive examination attempt remaining.
Other Requirements
MPT qualification does not waive the remaining eligibility requirements for the CSS written examination.
CSS MPT 2027 Syllabus
The official MPT rules divide the 200-mark paper into English, General Abilities, General Knowledge, Urdu and Islamic Studies.

English: 50 Marks
The English portion covers vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and comprehension.
General Abilities: 60 Marks
General Abilities carries the highest share of the MPT paper, covering basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry, logical problem-solving, and analytical reasoning.
General Knowledge: 50 Marks
This section encompasses Everyday Science, Current Affairs, and Pakistan Affairs.
Urdu: 20 Marks
Urdu carries 20 marks and tests grammar, translation, and vocabulary specified in the official syllabus.
Islamic Studies: 20 Marks
Islamic Studies carries 20 marks, with Civics and Ethics as an option for non-Muslim candidates.
How Many Marks Are Required to Pass CSS MPT?
Candidates need at least 33% marks to qualify the MPT.
How Long Is the CSS MPT?
The MPT paper carries 200 marks and has a duration of 200 minutes (no negative marking).
How Many Times Can You Appear in the MPT?
Subject to Rule 6, there is no limit on the number of attempts to appear in the Preliminary Test. However, candidates who have already exhausted their three allowed chances in competitive examinations cannot appear in the MPT.
Is CSS MPT Valid for Future CSS Exams?
No. The validity of the Preliminary Test is restricted strictly to the same competitive examination year (CE-2027). Qualifying CE-2027 MPT cannot be carried forward to CE-2028.
Can the MPT Examination Centre Be Changed?
No. According to FPSC rules, the examination centre chosen during the online submission cannot be altered under any circumstances.
How to Prepare for CSS MPT 2027
Focus primarily on high-yield portions: General Abilities (60 marks) together with English (50 marks) make up more than half the total paper.
Work on English
Revise vocabulary, grammar, idioms, and reading comprehension regularly.
Practise General Abilities
Give daily timed practice to arithmetic, basic algebra, geometry, and logical reasoning.
